This model was created as a theatrical representation of the Humble Administrator’s Garden in Suzhou, China. My concept for this model was to bring a bit of the natural brightness of the world to life in an area (Ohio) that has months of grey winter.
The rock bases are carved and painted foam. The trees are plastic armatures coated in cloths and foams to get the leaves just right. To add a bit of fantasy, the water is pigmented resin with a couple paper lilypads.
