My Story
Alexandra "Alex" Pio is a scenic and properties designer for primarily live entertainment. She recently completed an MFA in Production Design & Technology from Ohio University with focuses in scenic design and props artisanry. She has spent her career working with anyone from small town children's theatres to regional opera houses in properties and scenic work. She has also stepped into the world of themed entertainment to complete scenic art and finishing work, primarily for escape rooms.
Alex has worked in a variety of capacities as a scenic designer, scenic artist, props master, and generally as a jack of all trades. She currently splits her time between Milwaukee, Wisconsin and traveling for gigs, working with any new projects she can get her hands on. Learning new things is her greatest passion, and she loves to sit down and figure things out with a cup of coffee and her oddly dog-like cat by her side. Any challenge from space to technique is always an exciting new opportunity.
Outside of a generally artistic world, Alex’s hobbies include finding funky new rocks, finding glitches in video games, and consuming a truly terrifying amount of caffeine.

Void Assistants - Demyx & Morgana
These are the two monsters that help me with all of my work. They inspire me daily with their shenanigans, and I talk about them extensively to any individual that’s willing to look at my camera roll of cat photos.
Demyx (left) is a dog that was accidentally put into a large 3 ft cat body. He enjoys chasing his ball, drooling on laps, and sprinting for absolutely anything dropped in the vicinity of the kitchen. He also loves to help build models by adding singular bites to the corners of foam board. It adds character.
Morgana (right) is a small enchantress that decided living life as a cat sounded pretty rad. She loves chicken and is generally a small menace filled with crimes. She is not allowed in the office, but does have a bed in there for when she chooses to break the law. All designs from me are approved and supervised by Morgana.
