This box was created as a class project exploring historical and topically dark props. I started with figuring out the contents of the box by researching into numerous cultures to find objects of protection and means to ward off fae and demons. Some used pieces were the rowan branch engraved into steel for fae warding, peacock ore and an herb mixture of mint and rosemary for spiritual protection, and a raven feather for guidance and prophecy. The demon itself was modeled after numerous creatures such as skinwalkers and wendigos.

The unfinished box itself was purchased, but stained and sealed by myself. The inserts for the center and vials were cut and put together by me before being either stained or velvet covered. The inside of the box was velvet lined using spray adhesive and fabri-tac after any snaps were attached. The stakes were carved dowels that were stained, leather wrapped, and gilded on the tip. The vials were mostly found objects. The books were hand-sewn and bound with the kettle stitch. Finally, the demon was sculpted around a wire and aluminum foil armature with apoxie sculpt. He was cleaned up with a little bit of sanding, and then painted leathery. A tarnished chain was wrapped around him afterwards.
