This sword was created as a class project to explore cosplay style weapons. The design is taken from the in-game model of the Stygian Blade in the game Hades.

Multiple images of the design were scaled up to create the pieces of the sword. The sword base was a planed and cut piece of maple, sanded and later engraved to have the imagery and edge of the game blade. EVA foam was carved to create the skull, the rounded handle, and the pommel gem. These pieces were attached with contact cement and both reinforced and smoothed with the addition of Worbla black art. A couple wing pieces were attached to the skull as supports for the individually placed thermoplastic leaves. A coating of plastidip was applied to the thermoplastic before everything was detail painted to fit the sword’s design. A satin clear coat finished everything off.
