Cosplay Bracers
Classwork - 2021
Materials: EVA foam, Worbla finest art, plasti-dip, cabochon, acrylic paint
These bracers were made as an exploration of cosplay armor and usage of worbla and foam. I created the pattern based off of my own arms and using character reference from Sylvanas Windrunner in World of Warcraft. Since there isn’t a good seam shown in the video game model, I made the bracers able to slide onto my arms and remain in place. Once I had patterned out three layers to fit my arms, I sandwiched cut out EVA foam pieces in worbla and put those pieces together with the natural glue in thermoplastic. The filigree details and leather straps were sculpted from thermoplastic and heat glued on as well. Then, these bracers were coated in plastidip before being painted with flexible acrylics. Finally, a small cabochon gem was placed to finish it off.
