This boulder was for a student dance piece in UWSP's 2018 production of AfterImages.

The boulder began by being carved out of bead styrofoam. It was texturized and primed with cheesecloth coated in elastomeric. A scumble of greys was applied, followed by a light and dark spatter. A layer of brown, dark green, and light green were sponged to imply moss before being covered in 3D moss to add a more complete look. The mushrooms were carved from insulation foam before being primed and painted. All pieces were caulked onto a black plywood base.
